1. Disclaimer: The word "shall" or "can" (either positive "shall" or "can" negative "shall not" and "can not") is mandatory.  The word "may" is permissive.  If an item is not covered by these Rules, the Race Director and Competition Director shall make an Official ruling.  These rules are also designed to develop orderly conduct at racing events, both on and off the track.  No expressed or implied guarantee of safety will result from publication of, or compliance with these rules and regulations.  They are intended as a guide for competition, and in no way rule out the chance of injury, disability, or death to participants, spectators, or others.  It is the responsibility of each participant to inspect for and determine that his or her individual safety is not jeopardized during an Event.  These rules are subject to change in whole or part. Changes may also occur through special bulletins.  It is the responsibility of the participant to know and comply with these rules.
1.A- Drivers and crews are subject to alcohol and on the spot drug testing at anytime.  Any competitor who test positive for alcohol or drugs will be disqualified from the racing event, will forfeit any money earned for that event, is subject to the loss of all accumulated points, and will be required to re-test prior to entry into the pits for other events.  Any entrant to the pits who is not a competitor will be escorted out of the pits and will be required to re-test prior to entry into the pits for other events.
2.  Altercations: The Driver is responsible for the actions of their crews.  Any Driver or crews who goes to another person’s pit area and starts an altercation will be disqualified from the event. They will be subject to the loss of any money earned for that event, will be subject to the loss of all accumulated points and being fined by Dixieland Speedway not less then $200.00. They may be banned from Racing at Dixieland Speedway , and are subject to being arrested by the track owner or the person with whom they are having the altercation.  Any Driver, pit crew, or entrant to the pits of Dixieland Speedway who is asked to leave the premises by an Official of Dixieland Speedway and refuses to do so is subjected to being arrested for Trespassing.  The race vehicle and associate equipment is subjected to being impounded by the Counties Law Enforcement until restitution though the Court system is granted.
3.  Assault of Track Officials: Any Driver, crewmember, or pit entrant who strikes an Official of Dixieland Speedway is subject to being fined $1000.00, being removed from the premises, being banned from entry to Dixieland Speedway, and being arrested and prosecuted by the management of Dixieland Speedway or by the Official with whom the altercation was with.  Any Driver, Crew member, or pit entrant who verbally Assaults an Official of Dixieland Speedway is subject to being fined not less then $200.00, loss of accumulated points, being removed from the premises, and being banned from entry to Dixieland Speedway

4.  Illegal Parts:  Any racecar found to be illegal before, during, or after the racing event by the officials of Dixieland Speedway will be subject to disqualification, loss of any money earned, is subject to additional fines, and loss of accumulated points at Dixieland Speedway .  The vehicle will be required to be re-inspected by track Officials before being allowed to compete at the Speedway
.
5. Protest: The driver of the racecar immediately behind a racecar can file a protest, if that driver feels that the competitor is using illegal engine parts.  The car will be impounded and the Technical Official of Dixieland Speedway will have the final ruling on the legality of the racecar.  Protests can only be filed to any of the Dixieland Officials within 15 minutes of the end of the racing event in which the car participated in.  It must be accompanied by $300.00 cash from the driver lodging the protest. The reason for the protest must be specific to the engine part being protested.  If the car is found to be Illegal for the engine part being protested then the money will be returned to the protestor.  If the car is found to be legal then $150.00 will go to the driver being protested and $150.00 will go to Dixieland Speedway .  The Illegal part may be confiscated by Officials of Dixieland Speedway and not returned.  If during the protest a different reason for disqualification is discovered by Officials of Dixieland Speedway the car can still be disqualified as outlined in paragraph number 4 above.  However the money for the protest will still be divided as noted above because the original protested part was legal.

6. Flag Rules:

(A) Green Flag- Starts the race or any restarts

(B) Yellow Flag- Indicates caution on the racetrack slow down, hold your position.  We do not race back to the Flag.

(C) Green and Yellow Flag TogetherDuring practice/Roll-in at times the green flag and yellow flag will be displayed together ( also both the green light and yellow lights will be on).  The purpose of this is to allow the racecars to increase their speed around the track.  This does not mean that racers obtain race speed but rather to increase speed to speed up roll in.  At this time the track is not safe for full race speed.  Track Officials will indicate when they determine it is safe for full race speed buy changing from a green and yellow flag to a green flag

(D) Red Flag- Stop.  Due to a serious wreck or other reason the race has been stopped.  No work is allowed on the vehicle with any tools and only one pit crewmember can go on the racing surface to service the driver.  They can remove vehicle parts, which are interfering with the vehicle with the use of their hands only.  NO TYPE OF TOOLS CAN BE USED. AIR PRESSURE IN TIRES CANNOT BE ADJUSTED.
(E) Black Flag- when this flag is displayed to a Driver of a racecar they should immediately leave the racing area and go to the pits.  It is given to a racecar for one of two reasons.  They have violated a racing rule and are being penalized or they have a problem with their vehicle which is unsafe and they need to have it corrected before continuing the event.  Once the Black Flag is given to a vehicle for three times then the scorers will stop scoring the vehicle, the vehicle will lose all points for that event, and is subject to being fined $100.00 by Dixieland Speedway.

(F)  Two Flags Rolled upWhen the Chief Starter displays two flags rolled up, either during practice or a racing event, that means that the vehicles are to double file (form two rows) around the track.

(G) White Flag_ indicates the final lap of the racing event.  Once this flag is displayed the only flag that can follow the White Flag is the Checkered Flag.  If an accident occurs on the last lap then the yellow light will be illuminated and drivers are urged to take note that there may be an accident on the track.  However you CAN RACE BACK TO THE FLAG STAND ONLY ON THE LAST LAP. (NOTE:  If during some events cautions are being counted and the caution flag is out as we approach the final lap then the event will be finished under caution in the order the race cars are in when the caution was displayed.  There will be no racing back to the checkered flag.)   (H) Checkered Flag- indicates the end of the racing event.  Once displayed vehicles are to slow and exit the racing surface after crossing the start finish line.  Only the top three racecars are to return to the start finish line for presentation of the trophy.  Race cars that take additional laps are subject to a fine of not less then $100.00.

(I) Blue Flag with Orange or yellow Stripe- this is the move over flag. It will be displayed to the racecars, which are about to be overtaken by the leaders of the event.  It is a courtesy type of flag in which the slower racecars need to move out of the leaders way.  When given to a slower racecar that car should move down to the lower side of the track allowing the faster cars to go by on the outside.  Repeated failure to obey this flag could cause the competitor to be black-flagged.

(J) Red and Black Flags together- Indicates for vehicles to immediately exit the racing surface and return to the pit area.   Cars that do not immediately exit the racing surface (i.e. taking extra laps) will be subject to a $50.00 fine.
